Bodeswell is a small hobby kennel operated by Nancy Patterson and Craig Inward. We breed Whippets and Chinese Cresteds for the pure love of the breeds. We are located one hour north of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Our registered kennel name, Bodeswell, was created to use the letters, B, O, and D; to honour our first dogs, Buci, Ollie and Deli.

Deli and Buci were Great Danes and lived out their lives as well loved companions. It is because of our devotion to them that we started to go to dog shows. We went initially to just soak up the atmosphere and to meet other dogs.

We became attracted to the whippet ring in particular and soon we acquired Ollie as a pet. Even though Craig, at first, thought they looked like "bugs".

Of course you can't just have one whippet and we decided to get another one shortly after Ollie came home with us, and this time we thought "why not get a show dog!"

Atticus was the start of our journey into the world of showing and breeding dogs ourselves, and this journey continues with unabated enthusiasm. Our whippet activities have expanded to include performance events – in particular racing, and we have since added Chinese Cresteds to our pack.

Our homebred and much loved girl, Candy, wins 2007 Chinese Crested Club of Canada National Specialty Best in Show!

Nancy fell in love with the Crested’s sighthound like physiques and bouncy personalities at the shows and just had to have one (ha!). Harry was our first crested and is truly an exceptional example of the breed.
